International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP)

FIP is a world-wide federation of national pharmaceutical (professional and scientific) associations. FIP was founded in The Hague, The Netherlands, in 1912 and still has its central office in The Hague. Although FIP is a federation of associations, any pharmacist or pharmaceutical scientist can apply to become an Individual Member of FIP.

FIP's highest organ is the FIP Council. In Council, all national pharmaceutical associations, called Member Organizations and national pharmaceutical scientific associations, called Predominantly Scientific Member Organizations, are represented and have weighted voting rights. FIP's Associate Members, supra-national pharmaceutical (scientific) associations, also participate in the Council but have no voting rights.
